Darren Hendry Promoted to Managing Director

30 June 2022

Ross McGowan started McGowan Environmental Engineering in June 2009 and after 13 years in charge, we are delighted to announce that Darren Hendry has been promoted to Managing Director.

Darren Hendry, Managing Director of McGowan, said:

“I’ve really enjoyed my time with McGowan and am genuinely honoured to become the company’s Managing Director. I’d like to thank Ross for giving me this opportunity and the rest of the team for their positive response following the recent announcement.”
“Ross has built an amazing business so it’s great that he’s still going to be involved and will provide support going forward. It is an exciting time for McGowan as we look to expand our service offering and continue the ongoing investment in people, facilities, machinery and technology. We are entirely committed to being Naturally Different and will always take pride in who we are, what we do and how we do it.”

Ross will continue to be involved and play an active role in the business, working closely with Darren and engaging with clients across the UK & Ireland. Ross McGowan, Founder of McGowan, said:

“It’s hard to believe the company is already 13 years old! I’m really proud to see how the business has grown, developed and diversified over the years. From day one, the ethos and commitment has always been about quality and caring. These beliefs are just as important today as they were then, and it’s great to see that our CARE Values remain at the heart of the company. There’s been a lot of hard work involved and I’d like to thank everyone for their support and dedication throughout.”

Ross, went on to add:

“Darren joined McGowan as a Civil Engineering Contracts Manager in 2019 and he has performed exceptionally well in this post. He has been a key part of the senior management team and has played a major role in driving our continued growth in recent years. I’m delighted to promote Darren to Managing Director and would like to wish him all the best in his new position.”
