Strathspey Thistle FC - McGowan Main Sponsor

21 July 2021

In September 2020 McGowan Environmental Engineering committed to a 3-year deal as the main sponsor of Strathspey Thistle FC. We have had a long-standing relationship with the club and are proud to be part of their continued development, having witnessed many improvements in recent years both on and off the park.

Founded in 1893, the Scottish Highland Football League is the UK’s most northerly senior football championship. Strathspey Thistle FC were formed a century later, finally joining the league in 2009 which is the same year that McGowan Environmental Engineering was founded. Ross McGowan (Managing Director at McGowan Environmental Engineering) stated:

“It is now more important than ever to support local organisations and I am delighted to be able to continue our sponsorship of Strathspey Thistle FC. We have grown to become a significant employer in the area and as a family business, we recognise the importance of engaging with the local community wherever possible. Hopefully our support for Strathspey Thistle FC will help provide greater opportunities for the team and players to fulfil their potential.”

We are thrilled to have the McGowan Environmental Engineering logo featured on this season’s home and away shirts as well as the latest club sweatshirts. The new kit is really impressive and the feedback from the management, players and supporters has been brilliant. Please click here to visit the club’s online shop and view the latest merchandise.

The new Breedon Highland League season kicks-off this Saturday (24th July) with a trip to Aberdeenshire to play Huntly FC. Football (and thankfully the fans!) will then return to Seafield Park the following week with matches against Golspie Sutherland FC in the North of Scotland Cup on Wednesday 28 July and then Wick Academy FC in the league on Saturday 31 July.

Ian Anderson (Vice Chairman at Strathspey Thistle FC) commented:

“McGowan’s continued support is greatly appreciated. With the arrival of a new management team last month and the new season fast approaching, it is an exciting time for everyone connected to Strathspey Thistle FC. We’ve had an encouraging pre-season and are really looking forward to getting started, it’s been a long time coming!”

Everyone at McGowan Environmental Engineering would like to wish the committee, management, players and supporters of Strathspey Thistle FC the very best of luck for the season ahead.
