McGowan Event - Stan Duncan Memorial Cup 2021
On Saturday 31 July 2021, the McGowan Environmental Engineering team gathered to celebrate the life of Stan Duncan at Spey Valley Championship Golf Course in Aviemore.
In the morning, 22 golfers competed for the Stan Duncan Memorial Cup and that afternoon they were joined by another 14 members of the team, to enjoy some food and refreshments.
Ian McBean won the trophy in 2020 and this year it was Alex Brown’s turn to lift the Cup after an excellent round of golf. Andy Mackay won the closest-to-the-pin competition, Andrew Duncan won the longest drive and Scott Mackinnon gracefully accepted the wooden spoon!
Stan Duncan sadly passed away on 16 June 2020 aged 66. He had been a Machine Operator for 18-years with Dulnain Bridge Plant Ltd before McGowan Environmental Engineering acquired the company in 2018. Although Stan had a relatively short time with McGowan, he was a highly regarded and valued member of the team and is greatly missed by all.
We were delighted to have Stan’s son Andrew join us for the day and would like to take this opportunity to pass on our best wishes to his sister Lyn and the rest of the family.
