A Scottish Natural Heritage  / Pearls in Peril Project to remove an existing riverbank situated on the Mar Lodge Estate which had been constructed of old railway sleepers, corrugated iron sheeting and old cars some 20 years ago.

Project Notes:

  • All works undertaken under SEPA CAR License stipulations
  • Slit/Pollution Controls adopted during the works on site
  • Total of 30 old cars were excavated from the rear of the old riverbank
  • All excavated cars were removed to a Registered Landfill site for disposal
  • Riverbank was re-profiled upon removal of debris
  • Coir ground stabilization matting and rock armour placement was installed to protect the new profiled riverbank
  • All works supervised by Scottish Fisheries Board representative and Project Environmental Engineer
