Historic Environment Scotland who manage Holyrood Park wished to upgrade the pathway within the Dry Dam area of the Royal Park which due to heavy visitor use , the existing pathway was severely deteriorated.

Project Notes:

  • McGowan Ltd were awarded the works on the basis of past experience in such type works. The project entailed sourcing suitable rock for path construction at a local quarry
  • Helicopter operations within built up area and liaison with Civil Aviation Authority
  • Working to UPAG standards of upland footpath construction works were successfully completed before the new summer tourist season in 2017
